This class is designed to prepare fencers for the high-level open swordplay. This class emphasizes tactical exercises, situational bouting, refining fencing skills, and competitive conditioning. Students will also learn about equipment, periodization training, how tournaments work, USA Fencing ratings, and qualification pathways for competitions.
Advanced Fencing goes over the last two of the foundation five levels of the Blades curriculum. Students at this level will have the technique, strategy, tactics, and understanding how to swordplay with others in Open Gym and competitions.
Students are encouraged to continue training and complete the next five levels of the Advanced Blades curriculum (10 total levels) or apply for the Competitive Elite once they have completed the five foundation levels of the Blades curriculum.
